British Life and Business

This course gave me a deeper understanding of what it truly means to be British all while discovering the impact this small nation’s business culture has on the rest of the world.

The course's focus was on the British Empire in the development of multiculturalism, as well as the country’s impact on the development of business and trade. In a business sense, I learned the cultural impact on organizational decision making, negotiations, human resource management, and business functions, such as marketing.

International Internship Course

In order to enhance and contextualize my internship experience in London, I participated in a variety of seminars designed to provide me with support to develop my understanding of the U.K. workplace and enable to me to make the most of my experience. The class worked closely with an FIE faculty member and each other to reflect upon the experience and exchange ideas. This course had a huge focus on intercultural issues that could arise at our internships.

ECO3713: International Macroeconomics

This macroeconomics course ties closely to my finance degree but, gave an international perspective. We examined the international linkages arising from capital & trade flows as well as a comparison of macroeconomic policies and performance across countries. In addition, the course looks at the effects of macroeconomic events on the international business environment.

International Coursework

GEB3373: International Business

The primary purpose of this course was to expose students to culture, politics, laws and economics encountered in other parts of the world. A major topic to understand was how managing and integrating international operations in many parts of the world differs from the domestic focus of many business courses. For me, I gained the most insight on what is required of successful managers working in international business.
